What to expect
The PADI Divemaster course takes about 50 hours to complete and can be finished in weeks or spread over several months. It includes pool/confined water training, open water sessions, and knowledge development through classroom or PADI eLearning®. You’ll learn dive theory, skill demonstration, dive planning, and problem prevention when working with student divers. Practical experience includes leading dive activities, DSD® experiences, and skin diver courses. To qualify, you must complete waterskill exercises, a dive skills evaluation, a site map, an Emergency Assistance Plan, and pass exams with at least 75%. Once certified, you can work globally as a divemaster or continue toward becoming a PADI Instructor.
